Walking

Brecon town is a wonderful centre for walking, in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with easy access to the Black Mountains, Offa's Dyke Trail, Wye Valley and Swansea Valley. Leave the car behind and enjoy the breathtaking scenery and staggering views (and maybe some great pubs along the way!). The Brecon Beacons National Park has ten Mountain Walks by bus, of varying difficulty for you to enjoy. Please visit www.travelbreconbeacons.info. Powys County Council also have "Trail Tempters" with free guided walks. Booking in advance is required. www.leapingstiles.co.uk. Alternatively, just take a gentle stroll at your own pace along the Brecon Canal Towpath. This 8 miles stretch of towpath takes you on a level walk from Brecon to Talybont on Usk. The Canal towpath is less than a minute's walk from the House.
